Overview

The node integrates with Venice AI to generate images based on text prompts using a simplified interface compatible with OpenAI-style image generation requests. It supports specifying the model, prompt, image size, and response format. This operation is useful for quickly generating images from descriptive text without complex configuration.

Common scenarios include:

  • Creating concept art or illustrations from textual descriptions.
  • Generating images for social media posts or marketing materials.
  • Rapid prototyping of visual ideas based on natural language input.

Example: Given a prompt "A futuristic city skyline at sunset," the node can generate an image in the specified size and return it either as a base64-encoded JSON or a URL.

Properties

Name Meaning
Model The image generation model to use (e.g., "hidream").
Prompt Text description of the image to generate.
Size Desired image dimensions. Options: Auto, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024, 1536x1024, 1024x1536, 1792x1024, 1024x1792. "Auto" lets the system decide.
Response Format Format of the returned image data. Options: Base64 JSON (image data encoded in base64), URL (link to the generated image).

Output

The output JSON contains the response from the Venice AI image generation endpoint. Depending on the selected response format:

  • Base64 JSON: The image is returned as a base64-encoded string within a JSON structure, suitable for embedding directly or further processing.
  • URL: The response includes a URL pointing to the generated image hosted remotely.

No binary data is returned in this simplified generation operation.

Dependencies

  • Requires an API key credential for Venice AI configured in n8n.
  • The node makes HTTP POST requests to Venice AI's /images/generations endpoint.
  • No additional environment variables are needed beyond the API key.

Troubleshooting

  • Invalid or missing API key: The node will fail if the Venice AI API key is not set or invalid. Ensure the credential is properly configured.
  • Unsupported model or size: Using a model name or size not supported by Venice AI may cause errors. Verify available models and sizes.
  • Empty or invalid prompt: The prompt must be a non-empty string describing the desired image; otherwise, the request may fail.
  • Network issues: Connectivity problems can cause request failures. Check network access and proxy settings if applicable.
