Summary

Search the web for a query and extract up to 10 results in the selected format. The node returns one n8n item per result, each including the query; when there are no results, it returns the API response envelope as one item.

Inputs

• Query (required) — Search terms to send to the WellMarked API.
• Number of Results — How many results to fetch and extract, from 1 to 10; defaults to 5.
• Render JavaScript — Whether to render each result page with Playwright before extracting; defaults to off and is available on paid plans.
• Output Format — Representation for each extracted result: Markdown (default), JSON Blocks, Chunks, Raw HTML, or Links. JSON Blocks and Chunks require Pro or higher plans.
• Compliance Overrides — Optional request policy overrides: restrict results to comma-separated allowed domains, deny hostname or URL patterns, and choose strict or lax robots.txt handling. Overrides can only narrow the API key's policy.

Output shape

One item per search result, with the query added to each result's fields; if there are no results, one item containing the API response envelope.

Each result is extracted in the selected output format. With Continue On Fail enabled, errors are returned as an item with an error field.

Examples

Example 1: Search for open-source vector databases and return the five default Markdown results.

Set Query to “best open-source vector databases”; leave other inputs at their defaults.

Example 2: Search only documentation sites and return rendered page content.

Set Query, enter documentation domains in Allow Domains, enable Render JavaScript if your plan supports it, and select an Output Format.
