Summary

Previews a PromptCache prompt’s live draft by sending the supplied variables to its inject endpoint. Missing template variables are reported by the preview rather than treated as errors.

Inputs

• Prompt ID (required) — The PromptCache prompt ID to preview.
• Variables — A JSON object of variable values to inject into the draft template. Defaults to an empty object.

Output shape

One or more n8n items containing the API response data.

The operation makes a POST request for each input item. API success envelopes are unwrapped; if the returned data is an array, each element becomes a separate output item. Requires PromptCache API credentials with the prompts:read scope.

Examples

Example 1: Preview a draft prompt

Set Prompt ID and provide variable values as JSON, such as {"topic":"docs","tone":"friendly"}. The node returns the preview response, including any missing-variable information reported by the API.
