Summary

Send a WhatsApp message to a chat by choosing text, media, location, contact, or poll content. The Chat ID defaults to an expression that extracts a recipient from an upstream WhatsApp Trigger event; you can replace it with a DM, group, or LID chat identifier.

Inputs

  • Chat ID (required) — Recipient chat identifier: a phone-based DM such as 628123456789@c.us, a group such as 120363xxx@g.us, or a LID such as 123@lid.
  • Type (required) — Select Text, Image, Video, Audio (Voice Note), File / Document, Location, Contact (vCard), or Poll.
  • Text (required) — For text messages, the message body (maximum 4096 characters). Optional controls disable link previews or simulate typing first; typing duration is 1–30 seconds and defaults to 2 seconds.
  • Media URL (required) — For image, video, audio, or file messages, provide a public HTTPS URL (maximum 2048 characters). Image, video, and file messages can include an optional caption (maximum 1024 characters); file messages can also override the filename.
  • Reply To Message ID — Optionally quote-reply to a WAHA message ID when sending text, image, video, audio, or file content.
  • Latitude and Longitude (required) — For location messages, provide coordinates; latitude must be between -90 and 90 and longitude between -180 and 180. Title and address are optional.
  • Contacts — For contact messages, add up to 10 contacts with a name and phone number in E.164 format.
  • Question and Options (required) — For poll messages, provide a question (maximum 255 characters) and 2–12 options. Multiple answers are disabled by default and can be enabled.
  • Idempotency Key — Optional key sent as a request header; the backend de-duplicates retried requests with the same key within one hour.

Output shape

One output item per input item, containing the final API response body as its JSON.

When typing simulation is enabled, the node starts typing, waits for the selected duration, stops typing, then sends the text; the output is from the send request. Empty response bodies produce an empty object. With Continue On Fail enabled, failures produce an item with error details instead of stopping execution.
