Summary

Sends a natural-language query to a CTERA expert’s MCP endpoint and returns the expert’s generated answer. Uses the required CTERA AI MCP credentials to authenticate the request.

Inputs

  • Expert MCP Endpoint URL (required) — The per-expert MCP endpoint URL; the node’s “List Experts” operation can provide it.
  • Query (required) — The natural-language question to send. The node passes this value as the expert chat message.

Output shape

One n8n item per input item, containing the original input JSON plus operation, toolName, and result fields.

The node calls the expert_chat tool. It extracts the first text content from the MCP response, parsing it as JSON when possible and otherwise returning it as text; non-text content is returned as-is. MCP errors fail the item unless Continue On Fail is enabled, in which case an error field is returned.
