Summary

Searches an expert’s files using a natural-language query and returns each matching file as a separate n8n item, with metadata and optional text content.

Inputs

• Expert MCP Endpoint URL (required) — Per-expert MCP endpoint URL; List Experts can provide this URL.
• Query (required) — Natural-language question to search for.
• Limit — Maximum results (default 100; UI range 1–250).
• Offset — Pagination offset (default 0).
• Sort By — Sort by relevance (default), modified date, created date, or name.
• Include Snippet — Whether to include a text snippet for each file (default false).
• Include Markdown — Whether to include the full Markdown body for each file (default false).
• Path Prefix — Restrict results to the given directory path and its subfolders.

Output shape

A list of items, one per file hit.

Each item retains the input JSON and adds operation and toolName, file metadata fields (such as fileId, name, path, sizeBytes, mimeType, timestamps, storageSystem, and metadata), optional snippet and markdownBody, plus _meta with total, limit, and offset. With no hits, returns one item with result: [] and pagination metadata. Fields sourced from each hit may be absent when the response does not provide them.
