Business → Update

Summary

Updates an existing PERS business by sending a PUT to /businesses/{businessId} with only the fields you add under Update Fields, and returns the API's JSON response.

Inputs

  • Business ID (required) — Identifier of the business to update. It is inserted into the request URL.
  • Update Fields — Collection of optional fields to change. Only fields you add are sent in the request body. The available fields are Business Legal Name, Business Type ID, City, Description, Display Name, Email, Image URL, Latitude (coordsLatitude), Logo URL, Longitude (coordsLongitude), Postal Code, Registration Number, Short Description, Street Address, Tags and Website URL.

Output shape

One JSON item per input item, containing the PERS API's response for the updated business (the response body is passed through as-is).

Each output item is paired to its input item. If a request fails and Continue On Fail is enabled, the item is {error: message}. Otherwise the node throws. The execute code splits Tags on commas or newlines into an array and trims each tag. If the Tags field is added but left empty, an empty string is sent, not an array. Any field you add to Update Fields is sent as-is, even if it holds a default such as 0 or an empty string. Leave out the fields you don't want changed.

Examples

Example 1: Change a business's public display name and website

Business ID = the business UUID; Update Fields: Display Name = "Cafe Central", Website URL = "https://cafecentral.example".

Example 2: Retag a business for filtering

Business ID = the business UUID; Update Fields: Tags = "partner, food-beverage, downtown".

Example 3: Set the business location

Business ID = the business UUID; Update Fields: Street Address, City, Postal Code, Latitude, Longitude.
