Summary

Updates a CiviCRM Activity by its internal ID, setting the fields you specify. Returns the updated activity after fetching it from CiviCRM.

Inputs

• ID (required) — Internal CiviCRM ID of the activity to update.
• Fields — Add field name/value pairs to set. Empty values are skipped; values that look like booleans, numbers, or JSON objects/arrays are converted to those types.
• Runtime Bearer Token (Optional) — Optional JWT used for this request. When supplied, it is sent as the bearer token without falling back to credential authentication if the request fails or returns no data.
• Base URL Override — Optional CiviCRM site root for this item, replacing the credential's Base URL. If omitted, the credential's Base URL is used.

Output shape

A single n8n item containing the updated activity as JSON.

The node updates the Activity using the ID as a filter, then fetches the record and returns the first result. If no record is returned, the item contains an empty object. With Continue On Fail enabled, an error produces an item with an error message.

Example 1: Set the subject of activity ID 42

Set ID to 42 and add a Fields pair with Name subject and Value Follow up.
