Summary

Remove an image background or generate a foreground alpha mask with Azure Vision, returning the image data as a PNG binary property.

Inputs

• Authentication (required) — Choose API Key or Microsoft Entra ID (OAuth2); configure the matching Azure credentials.
• Image Source (required) — Choose a publicly accessible image URL or a binary file from the incoming item.
• Image URL (required) — Used when Image Source is URL.
• Binary Property (required) — Used when Image Source is Binary File; names the incoming binary property containing the image. Defaults to data.
• Mode (required) — Background Removal returns the subject on a transparent background; Foreground Matting returns a grayscale foreground alpha mask. Defaults to Background Removal.
• Binary Property Name (required) — Name of the output binary property for the PNG. Defaults to data.

Output shape

One output item per input item, with PNG data in the configured binary property and JSON metadata containing the selected mode.

The output filename is segmented.png and MIME type is image/png. The operation sends the image to Azure Vision's segmentation endpoint; an empty URL is rejected when URL input is selected.
