Summary

Sends a WhatsApp status update (text, image, video, or audio) via the Baileys/Evolution API, with configurable type, content, caption, font, background color, and contact targeting.

Inputs

• instanceName (required) — Name of the Baileys/Evolution API instance to use. Mandatory for routing the request to the correct connected instance.
• type — Specifies the status medium. Options: text, image, video, audio. Defaults to text if omitted. Controls which fields (content, caption) are validated by the backend.
• content (required) — The media file URL or text content to post as status. Required for all status types; for text-only, this is the status message.
• caption — Optional caption overlay for image or video status. Ignored for text and audio statuses.
• backgroundColor — Hex color code for the text background (e.g., #000000). Defaults to black if not specified.
• font — Numeric font identifier for the status text overlay. Options map to specific system fonts (1=SERIF, 2=NORICAN REGULAR, 3=BRYNDAN WRITE, 4=BEBASNEUE REGULAR, 5=OSWALD HEAVY). Defaults to 1.
• allContacts — Boolean flag. When true, the status is broadcast to all contacts associated with the instance. When false, target contacts must be supplied via statusJidList.
• statusJidList (required) — Comma-separated list of WhatsApp contact JIDs (e.g., 5511999998888@s.whatsapp.net). Required when allContacts is false; ignored when allContacts is true.

Output shape

Returns an array containing the raw JSON response from the Baileys/Evolution API, as formatted by n8n's returnJsonArray helper. The array length is always 1, reflecting the single-operation execution model.
