Custom Field → Create
AI-generatedSummary
Creates a HighLevel custom field for a contact or opportunity in the credential’s sub-account. Choose its name and data type, then optionally set a field key, placeholder, display position, and picklist options.
Inputs
- Name (required) — Display name for the custom field.
- Data Type (required) — Field type: checkbox, date, file upload, large text, monetary, multiple options, numerical, phone, radio, single option, text, or textbox list.
- Model (required) — Attach the field to a contact or opportunity.
- Field Key — Unique field key; generated from the model and name if omitted.
- Placeholder — Placeholder text shown in forms.
- Position — Display position or sort order.
- Picklist Options — Comma-separated options for picklist data types, including single/multiple options, radio, and checkbox.
- Accept Custom Option — Allow a custom or free-text entry alongside defined picklist options.
Output shape
A single custom-field record.
The node uses the legacy location-scoped custom-fields create endpoint. The source converts comma-separated picklist options to the object-array format required by the API. Authentication defaults to Private Integration Token for new nodes and OAuth2 (Legacy) for nodes saved before version 0.2.0.
Examples
Example 1: create a contact custom field
Provide a name, choose a data type, and set the model to Contact. For a picklist, supply comma-separated options; the field key can be left blank for automatic generation.
