Summary

Capture a screenshot of a browser tab through the Browser CLI serve endpoint. Set the target tab, choose PNG or JPEG, and optionally set JPEG quality; the server must permit the dangerous screenshot command.

Inputs

• Tab ID — Target tab ID. Leave at 0 to use the active tab; the node omits 0 from the request.
• Format — Screenshot format: PNG (default) or JPEG.
• Quality — JPEG quality from 0 to 100; shown only for JPEG. The node omits this value if empty and ignores it for PNG.

Output shape

One or more n8n items containing the raw screenshot command result as JSON.

The node unwraps the response's data field when present and emits one item per array element; non-object values are wrapped in a result field. Screenshot image data is not converted into a binary file by this node. The browser-cli serve endpoint requires --allow-dangerous for this command.

Examples

Example 1: Capture the active tab as a PNG

Leave Tab ID at 0 and keep Format set to PNG.

Example 2: Capture a specific tab as a JPEG

Set Tab ID to the target tab and Format to JPEG; optionally set Quality from 0 to 100.
