Summary

Publish a virtual copy (vcopy) keyboard action as an MQTT message to a specified topic, optionally including input data and waiting for a response over MQTT.

Inputs

• Topic (required) — The MQTT topic to which the vcopy action message will be published.
• QoS — The QoS (Quality of Service) level for the MQTT message (0, 1, or 2).
• Include Input Items — Whether to include selected fields from the node's input items in the payload under inputItems.
• Include Input Items Fields — Comma- or newline-separated list of field paths from input items to include if 'Include Input Items' is true.
• Wait For Response — If true, the node subscribes to a response topic and waits for a reply message before returning output.
• Response Topic (required) — The MQTT topic to listen on for response messages if 'Wait For Response' is enabled; defaults to 'RES_'.
• Response Timeout (ms) — Maximum time in milliseconds to wait for a response before timing out.
• Parse Response As JSON — Whether to parse the response payload as JSON when receiving it.
• Value — String value to be sent as part of the vcopy keyboard action payload to normalize, store, or process as needed.
• Index — Numeric index for the target tab or clipboard slot relevant to the vcopy action.

Output shape

a list of items mirroring input items if any, each enriched with MQTT action details and optionally the response data; if no input, a single item with MQTT action and response data is returned.

If 'Wait For Response' is enabled, the node subscribes to the specified response topic and waits for the response or until the timeout triggers. The response is included in the output item under mqtt.response. If errors occur (e.g., timeout), these may throw or be returned as error fields if 'Continue On Fail' is enabled.

Examples

Example 1: Use this operation to send a 'vcopy' keyboard command over MQTT with a specified string value and optional index, publishing to the given topic. Optionally include selected input item fields in the payload. Wait for and receive asynchronous response data on a corresponding response topic if needed.

Specify the MQTT topic, set QoS, define the 'Value' string to send, and provide the desired 'Index'. Enable 'Include Input Items' to passthrough input fields if necessary. Enable 'Wait For Response' and specify the response topic to await and retrieve a reply message.
