Summary

Opens a Capital.com position in the selected market, with optional stop and profit settings. By default, Dry Run is enabled, so the node validates the request and returns it without sending it to the broker; disable Dry Run to place the position.

Inputs

• EPIC (required) — Market EPIC for the position.
• Direction — Buy or Sell; defaults to Buy.
• Size — Position size; defaults to 1.
• Stops & Limits — Optional guaranteed or trailing stop, stop amount/distance/level, and profit amount/distance/level. Numeric values of 0 are treated as unset.
• Wait for Confirmation — Defaults to false. After a real position is submitted, poll for its deal confirmation and attach the result when the response includes a deal reference.
• Dry Run — Defaults to true. When enabled, returns the constructed request without submitting it; disable to submit the position.
• Max Size Guard — Rejects the request when its size exceeds this value; 0 disables the guard.
• Allowed EPICs — Comma-separated EPIC allow-list; an empty value allows any EPIC.

Output shape

A single record containing either the dry-run request or the broker response.

Dry runs return {"dryRun":true,"request":{...}}. A submitted position returns the broker response, optionally with a confirmation field if waiting is enabled and a deal reference is returned. Confirmation polling may return ACCEPTED, REJECTED, or TIMEOUT.
