Summary

Create a Contabo compute instance using a selected VPS or VDS plan, OS image, and region. You can optionally set its display name, login user, root password, SSH keys, and cloud-init user data.

Inputs

  • Product ID (required) — Select a VPS or VDS plan.
  • Image Name or ID (required) — Choose the OS image to install, or provide its ID.
  • Region (required) — Choose where to create the instance.
  • Additional Fields — Optionally set a display name, default user, root password, SSH key IDs, or cloud-init user data. A supplied root password is stored as a Contabo password secret and its secret ID is sent with the create request; if omitted, Contabo may generate a password and email it.
  • Custom Request ID — Provide an optional UUIDv4 request identifier; if blank, the node generates one automatically.

Output shape

The created instance data from Contabo, returned as one n8n item per response record.

The node makes a POST request to Contabo's compute instances API for each input item. Selected SSH key IDs are converted to numbers. If the request fails and Continue On Fail is enabled, the output item contains an error message.
