Summary

Execute hybrid search combining full-text and vector similarity on Cosmos DB items using reciprocal rank fusion (RRF).

Inputs

• databaseName (required) — Choose from the list, or specify an ID using an expression
• containerName (required) — Choose from the list, or specify an ID using an expression; depends on databaseName
• keyword (required) — Keywords for full-text search
• searchQuery (required) — Query text for vector embedding search (used in VectorDistance)
• topK (required) — Number of top results to retrieve from the database (1-1000, default 10)
• partitionKeyField (required) — The partition key field name (e.g., category, ID, default category)
• partitionKeyValue (required) — The partition key value for filtering; leave empty if no partition key filtering is needed
• simplifyOutput — Whether to exclude internal Cosmos DB fields (_rid, _self, _etag, _attachments, _ts)
• excludeFields — Whether to exclude additional specific fields from the results
• fieldsToExclude — Comma-separated list of field names to exclude from results (default vector,text); only active when excludeFields is true

Output shape

Array of processed document objects. Each result has internal Cosmos DB fields (_rid, _self, _etag, _attachments, _ts) removed if simplifyOutput is true. If excludeFields is true, additionally specified fields are removed. If no results match, returns { message: 'No results found', keyword, searchQuery, topK, resultsCount: 0 }. Results are paired with their input item index.

Requires an Embedding node connected to the node's Embedding input. The searchQuery text is embedded via the connected AI model to generate the vector used in similarity scoring.

Example 1: Search items by keyword and semantic vector query, limiting to 5 results, filtering by partition key 'category' equal to 'settings'.
