Summary

Create a new short link on Dub.co that redirects to a specified destination URL.

Inputs

• Destination URL (required) — The target URL that the short link will redirect users to.
• Additional Fields — Optional parameters to customize the short link, including custom slug, domain, geo and device targeting, expiration, password protection, OG tags, and UTM tracking parameters.

Output shape

Returns the created link details including its ID, domain, short slug key, full short link URL, destination URL, and associated metadata.

Examples

Example 1: Create a standard short link with default settings

Set 'Destination URL' to 'https://example.com/blog/my-article'.

Example 2: Create a branded short link with a custom slug and UTM parameters

Set 'Destination URL' to 'https://example.com/promo', and under 'Additional Fields', set 'Domain' to 'go.mybrand.com', 'Custom Slug' to 'summer-sale', 'UTM Source' to 'newsletter', and 'UTM Campaign' to 'summer2024'.
