Message → Forward a Message

AI-generated

Summary

Forward the message identified by Message ID to the required To recipients, using the selected Fastmail identity. By default, build a forwarded subject and include the original message content and attachments; optionally create a draft instead of submitting it immediately.

Inputs

  • Message ID (required) — ID of the existing message to forward.
  • From Identity Name or ID (required) — Fastmail identity to use as the sender.
  • To (required) — Comma-separated recipient email addresses; at least one recipient is required.
  • Auto Fill Subject — Defaults to true and prefixes the original subject with “Fwd:” unless it already has that prefix. When disabled, use the Subject field instead.
  • Subject — Subject to use when Auto Fill Subject is disabled.
  • Auto Fill Forwarded Content — Defaults to true and builds text and HTML forwarded bodies from the original message, including its headers. When disabled, use Text Body and/or HTML Body.
  • Text Body — Text content for the forward when Auto Fill Forwarded Content is disabled.
  • HTML Body — HTML content for the forward when Auto Fill Forwarded Content is disabled.
  • Auto Fill Original Attachments — Defaults to true and carries over attachments from the original message.
  • Compose Options — Optional Cc and Bcc recipient lists, Create as Draft, and comma-separated names of input binary properties to upload as additional attachments. Create as Draft defaults to false; Reply All is not supported for forwarding.

Output shape

One output item per input item, with a JSON object describing the forward or draft.

A submitted forward returns success, forwardedMessageId, sourceMessageId, submitted: true, originalAttachmentCount, draftCleanup, and uploadedAttachments. A draft returns success, draftId, submitted: false, sourceMessageId, originalAttachmentCount, and uploadedAttachments. If Fetch Options > Debug is enabled, output also includes debug data. Forwarding requires at least one body (or an attachment); with automatic content disabled, blank bodies are accepted only when attachments are present. Errors stop execution unless Continue On Fail is enabled, in which case the item contains an error field.
