Summary

Fetches one Fastmail message by its required Message ID and returns a simplified message record. Optionally includes body values, downloads attachments as binary data, and adds raw JMAP response data for debugging.

Inputs

• Message ID (required) — Fastmail message ID to fetch.
• Fetch Options — Optional settings: Include Body Values adds available textBody and htmlBody fields; Download Attachments adds attachment files to the binary output, using Attachment Binary Property Prefix for binary property names (default attachment_); Debug adds the raw JMAP response. Read Status, Search, and Include Message IDs are not supported for this operation and cause an error when set to a non-default value.

Output shape

One n8n item for each input item, containing a JSON message record and, optionally, binary attachments.

The JSON record includes id, subject, preview, receivedAt, threadId, mailboxIds, formatted from/to/cc address lists, isRead, and isDraft. It includes attachment metadata when available; with body values enabled, available textBody and htmlBody fields are added. If the ID is not found, the item instead contains message: "Message not found" and the requested messageId. Binary properties are created only when attachments are downloaded and present. Debug adds a debug.jmapResponse field.
