Summary

Extract a single video frame as a thumbnail image at a specified timestamp from a source video URL, specifying the output image format.

Inputs

• Video URL (required) — URL of the source video from which to extract the thumbnail.
• Timestamp (Seconds) — Time offset in seconds at which to capture the video frame for the thumbnail. Defaults to 0 (start of the video).

The operation returns JSON with details about the extracted thumbnail image. The output is a JSON response from the Ilyworks API endpoint /v1/video/thumbnail and does not return binary data directly. Error details may be included in the JSON if the operation fails.

Examples

Example 1: Extract a thumbnail image at 10 seconds into the video in PNG format to use as a preview image in a workflow.

Set 'Video URL' to the source video location, 'Timestamp (Seconds)' to 10, and 'Thumbnail Format' to 'png'.
