Translation → Translate Document
AI-generatedSummary
Translates a binary file (e.g. DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, PDF, SRT, JSON) from each input item through the Lara Translate API and returns the translated file as binary data on the output item.
Inputs
- Source Language — Source language code (ISO 639-1/639-3 or BCP-47 locale). Leave as Autodetect (empty) to let Lara detect it.
- Target Language (required) — Target language code from the supported list (e.g. "en", "it", "pt-BR"). Validated against the supported set.
- Input Binary Field (required) — Name of the binary property on the incoming item holding the file (default "data"). Errors if missing or empty.
- Document Name (required) — File name including extension (e.g. "document.docx"). The extension must be supported, and it determines the output file's extension and MIME type.
- Additional Options For Translate Document > Output Format — Set to PDF so a translated .pdf input comes back as .pdf. Without it, PDF input returns a .docx.
- Additional Options > Glossaries — Glossaries (loaded from your Lara account) to apply during translation.
- Additional Options > Translation Memories — Translation memories to adapt to (sent as adapt_to).
- Additional Options > Translation Style — Faithful (default), Fluid, or Creative.
- Additional Options > No Trace (Incognito Mode) — When enabled, sends X-No-Trace so source content and translation are not saved by Lara.
Output shape
One item per input item. JSON contains { documentName, source, target }; the translated file is in binary property "data" (fileName = original base name + extension, with mimeType and fileExtension set).
The node uploads the file, creates a document job, and polls every 2 seconds for up to 15 minutes before downloading the result. A timeout or document error fails the item. The binary output is always under "data", regardless of the input property name. With Continue On Fail, failed items return JSON with an error message (plus statusCode, body and headers for HTTP errors). Requires Lara Translate API credentials.
