Summary

Update an existing LearnDash topic by specifying its numeric ID and the fields to change.

Inputs

• Item ID (required) — The numeric ID of the topic to update.
• Topic Fields — Fields of the topic to update, such as title, content, excerpt, status, slug, course ID, lesson ID, and topic ID.
• Body (JSON) — Raw JSON payload to send in the request body for advanced or custom updates; overrides standard fields if provided.

Output shape

A JSON object representing the updated topic returned from the LearnDash API.

Input parameters include required 'Item ID' and optional fields in 'Topic Fields' or 'Body (JSON)'. The operation performs an HTTP POST to update the topic and returns the updated topic object as response. Errors occur if invalid JSON is provided or required parameters are missing.

Examples

Set Item ID to the topic's numeric ID, and provide new values for title and content in Topic Fields.

Set Item ID and provide a raw JSON string in Body (JSON) to specify fields and values to update.
