Summary

Download media files referenced by input items and output them as binary data along with metadata, optionally routing outputs based on user-defined conditions.

Inputs

• Metadata Collection — Add custom key-value fields to pass along with the output for use in subsequent nodes like switch nodes.
• Routing Mode — Enable to split the output into multiple outputs based on routing rules; otherwise outputs to a single normal output.
• Routing Rules — Define conditions to route the output items into different outputs when Routing Mode is enabled.
• Include Fallback Output — Add an additional output branch for items that do not match any routing rule when Routing Mode is enabled.

Output shape

One or multiple output branches containing items with binary media data and JSON metadata.

If routing mode is enabled, the node outputs to multiple branches according to routing rules and optionally a fallback branch. Each output item contains binary data of the downloaded media and metadata like filename, file extension, MIME type, file size, and detected media type, along with any custom metadata fields provided in input parameters.

Examples

Example 1: Workflow receives items carrying media references, this node downloads each media file, extracts metadata, and outputs each item with binary data and augmented metadata for downstream processing.

• Set Resource to 'Media'. - Set Operation to 'Get Media'. - Optionally add custom metadata key-value pairs in 'Metadata Collection'. - Optionally enable 'Routing Mode' and define 'Routing Rules' to split outputs based on media attributes or other item fields. - Optionally enable 'Include Fallback Output' to handle items not matching any routing rule.
