Agent → Send Message
AI-generatedSummary
Sends a text message to an existing Pega Launchpad AI agent conversation via a PATCH request and returns the API response body plus response headers.
Inputs
- authentication — Authentication method; only OAuth2 is available (uses the pegalaunchpadOAuth2Api credential).
- baseUrl (required) — Base URL of the Pega Launchpad instance, e.g. https://your-pega-domain.com. A trailing slash is stripped.
- agentId (required) — Fully qualified agent name/ID, e.g. TestApp__SummaryAgent. URL-encoded into the request path.
- conversationId (required) — ID of the existing conversation to send the message to (for example one returned by Initiate Conversation). URL-encoded into the request path.
- request (required) — The message text sent to the agent, sent as the JSON-stringified body {"request": ...}.
Output shape
One item per input item. The item's JSON is the parsed response body from Pega, with an added responseHeaders object containing the HTTP response headers.
If the response body is a string that isn't valid JSON, it is returned as { rawBody }. The call only sends the message; to fetch the agent's final answer, use the Get Final Response operation. With Continue On Fail enabled, a failed item outputs { error: message } instead of stopping the run. Baseurl is read from the first item, so it is shared by all items.
Examples
Example 1: Follow up in a conversation started earlier in the workflow
Base URL = https://myco.pegalaunchpad.com, Agent ID = TestApp__SummaryAgent, Conversation ID = {{$json.conversationID}} from the Initiate Conversation node, Request = "Summarize the claim".
Example 2: Relay a user's chat text to an agent
Agent ID fixed to the agent name, Conversation ID = CONV-001, Request = {{$json.chatInput}}.
