Caption (AI) → Translate

AI-generated

Summary

Translates a block of text (such as a social media caption) into a target language by calling the Post Mate AI endpoint (POST /api/v1/ai/translate), optionally keeping the original voice and formatting.

Inputs

  • Text to Translate (required) — The caption or text to translate (multi-line field). Sent as text.
  • Target Language (required) — Language name written out in full, e.g. "Ukrainian", not an ISO code. Sent as target_lang. The description says regional flavour is chosen automatically.
  • Preserve Voice — Boolean, defaults to true. Sent as keep_voice. When true, the brand voice, line breaks, emoji and hashtags are preserved.

Output shape

One output item per input item, whose json is the Post Mate API's response body for the translation. If the API returns an array, each element becomes its own item.

The source does not define the response fields, so the exact field names (for example where the translated text appears) come from the Post Mate API. The Post Mate API credential (API key, optional base URL) is required. With Continue On Fail enabled, a failed item returns {error: message} instead of stopping the workflow.

Examples

Example 1: Localize an English Instagram caption into Ukrainian before scheduling it.

Resource: Caption (AI), Operation: Translate, Text to Translate: {{$json.caption}}, Target Language: Ukrainian, Preserve Voice: true.

Example 2: Translate plain text into Spanish without keeping the original formatting or voice.

Text to Translate: the source text, Target Language: Spanish, Preserve Voice: false.
