Summary

Sends a text or media message to a specific recipient via a configured social account.

Inputs

• Platform — The social platform (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook). Defaults to 'Auto-Detect', allowing the API to infer the platform from the Social Account ID.
• Social Account ID (required) — The Postora account UUID that will send the message. Do not use numeric platform IDs or usernames; see the Account resource for the correct UUIDs.
• Recipient ID / Phone (required) — The recipient's identifier (e.g., phone number for WhatsApp or user ID for other platforms).
• Message Text (required) — The content of the message to send.
• Message Type — Either 'text' or 'media'.
• Media URL — The URL of the media file (image, video, audio, or document) to attach. Required when Message Type is 'media'.
• Media Type — The type of media (image, video, audio, document). Defaults to 'image' when sending media.

Output shape

A single record containing the API response from the message send/reply endpoint.

Returns the raw response payload from the Postora API.

Examples

Example 1: Reply to a webhook-triggered message

Select 'Auto-Detect' for Platform. Use the default Social Account ID and Recipient ID expressions to pull data from the trigger payload. Enter a static Message Text.

Example 2: Send a WhatsApp broadcast

Set Platform to 'WhatsApp'. Use a static Recipient ID (phone number) and Message Text. Leave Message Type as the default 'text'.

Example 3: Send a photo via Instagram DM

Set Platform to 'Instagram'. Provide the recipient's numeric ID in Recipient ID. Set Message Type to 'media' and paste the Image URL in Media URL.
