Summary

Records the outcome of a previously recorded action as a "result" entry in Provedit's tamper-evident audit chain, linked to the earlier invocation by parentActionId. Posts to /v1/actions once per input item and returns the API response.

Inputs

  • Tool (required) — Tool name matched by your Provedit policy (e.g. send_email, billing.refund).
  • Parent Action ID (required) — The actionId returned by the earlier Record Invocation step (act_...).
  • Target Ref (required) — Identifier of what the action touched: record ID, full URL for URL kind, etc.
  • Target Kind — Category of target: db, deploy, email, file, message, other, payment, record (default), repo, or url.
  • Target Summary — Human-readable line shown on the timeline next to the target. Omitted from the request if empty.
  • Params (JSON) — Parameters recorded on the action (default {}). Must be valid JSON or the node errors.
  • Additional Fields — Optional collection: Actor Agent Name, Actor Model Name, Actor User Email, Session ID, Tool Version (default 0.0.0), Result Duration (Ms), and Result Output (JSON).

Output shape

One output item per input item, containing the JSON response from the Provedit /v1/actions endpoint (paired to the input item).

The node doesn't send a policy decision. The API re-evaluates policy itself and stamps its own decision. Result Output is SHA-256 hashed locally and only the digest (hash and byte length) is sent, under params._meta.outputDigest, along with durationMs under params._meta. The raw output is not transmitted. The actor vendor is always set to 'n8n'. With Continue On Fail enabled, failed items return {error: message} instead of stopping the workflow.
