Summary

Send a document file to a specified Telegram chat identified by Chat ID, username, or phone number.

Inputs

• Chat ID / Username (required) — The target chat where the document will be sent, identified by chat ID, username (e.g., @username), or phone number.
• File Path or URL (required) — The local file path or a URL pointing to the document file to send.
• Caption — Optional text caption to include with the document.
• Additional Options — Optional settings including parse mode for caption formatting (Markdown, HTML, or none), whether to send the message silently without notification, a message ID to reply to, and whether to show link preview.

Output shape

A single JSON object representing the sent message details returned by the Telegram MTProto client.

The returned data contains the Telegram message object with properties normalized for JSON. Errors will be returned as JSON if 'continue on fail' is enabled in n8n.

Examples

Example 1: Send a PDF document to a Telegram chat with a caption formatted in Markdown and no notification.

Set 'Chat ID / Username' to target chat, 'File Path or URL' to PDF file path, 'Caption' to desired message text, and in 'Additional Options' set 'Parse Mode' to Markdown and 'Silent' to true.
