Dead Letter Queue → Format Failed Item

AI-generated

Summary

Formats each incoming item as a dead-letter record for downstream storage or replay. It adds a generated ID and timestamp, resolves failure and workflow details from configured dot paths with metadata fallbacks, and outputs one item per input.

Inputs

  • Failure Reason Field — Dot path to the failure reason (default message). If absent or not a string, number, or boolean, uses error.message, then error, then Failed item.
  • Source Node Field — Dot path for a source node name (default sourceNode); falls back to the current Resilience node’s name.
  • Workflow ID Field — Dot path for a workflow ID override (default workflowId); falls back to the current workflow ID.
  • Workflow Name Field — Dot path for a workflow name override (default workflowName); falls back to the current workflow name.
  • Execution ID Field — Dot path for an execution ID override (default executionId); falls back to the current execution ID.
  • Include Original Payload — Include a deep copy of the input JSON as originalPayload (default true).
  • Include Error Metadata — Include defined error, message, statusCode, and __concurrencyGate values under error, and __retry data under retry (default true). When disabled, these fields are empty objects.
  • Destination Mode — Currently only Output Only is available; the node outputs the record for downstream handling.

Output shape

A single output containing one item per input, each with a dead-letter record in json.

Each record contains deadLetterId, timestamp, operation, reason, sourceNode, workflowId, workflowName, and executionId; originalPayload is omitted when disabled. Undefined values are removed. The node does not store records externally; connect downstream nodes to persist or replay them.
