Summary

Update an existing Vapi assistant's mutable properties using specified fields.

Inputs

• Assistant ID (required) — The ID of the Vapi assistant to update.
• Update Fields — Collection of fields to update including name, first message, max duration, model configuration, voice settings, first message mode, background sound, analysis and artifact plans, hooks, metadata, monitoring and observability plans, server configuration, and an advanced raw JSON body to override or add to the update payload.

Output shape

a single updated assistant object in JSON form

Fields specified in Update Fields will replace existing values. The Advanced Raw Body JSON merges into the update payload and overrides top-level keys. The operation returns the JSON response of the updated assistant object as received from the Vapi API.
