Summary

Upload a media file to the Gemini API for later use by providing either a file URL or a binary file.

Inputs

• Input Type (required) — Choose whether to upload the file from a URL or from binary data in the workflow.
• URL (required) — The URL of the file to upload, required if Input Type is 'File URL'.
• Input Data Field Name (required) — The binary property name containing the file data to upload; required if Input Type is 'Binary File'.

Output shape

a JSON object representing the uploaded file's metadata including its URI and MIME type

The operation returns an array with a single item containing JSON data of the uploaded file. The file is uploaded asynchronously and confirmed active before returning. If an error occurs during upload, the node will throw an error.
