Summary

Analyze video content using a specified Google Gemini model with a text prompt to generate a descriptive analysis.

Inputs

  • Model (required) — Select the Google Gemini model to use for video analysis, either from a searchable list or by providing the model ID directly.
  • Text Input — Enter a text prompt to guide the analysis, e.g., 'Describe this video'. Defaults to 'Describe this video'.
  • Input Type (required) — Specify whether the input is Video URL(s) or Binary File(s).
  • URL(s) — If 'Video URL(s)' is chosen, provide one or multiple video URLs to analyze, separated by commas.
  • Input Data Field Name(s) — If 'Binary File(s)' is chosen, specify the input field name(s) containing the binary video data, separated by commas if multiple.
  • Simplify Output — Choose whether to simplify the API response to only candidate results (true) or to return the full raw response (false). Defaults to true.
  • Options - Length of Description (Max Tokens) — Set the maximum token length for the generated description. Lower values yield shorter, less detailed outputs. Default is 300.

Output shape

a list of candidate analyses or full API responses per input item

The output shape depends on the 'Simplify Output' setting. If simplifying, each candidate from the response is returned as a separate item. Otherwise, the entire API response is returned as a single item. Each output item is paired with the input item index.

Examples

Example 1: Analyze video URLs with default prompt and simplified output

Model selected from list; inputType set to 'url'; one or more video URLs provided; default prompt 'Describe this video'; simplify output true; maxOutputTokens 300.

Example 2: Analyze binary video file with custom prompt and full output

Model selected by ID; inputType set to 'binary'; binaryPropertyName set to input field containing video data; custom text input prompt given; simplify output false.
