Summary

Send an approved WhatsApp template message to a specified recipient using an authorized WhatsApp sender number, optionally populating placeholders in the template with provided variables.

Inputs

• To (required) — Recipient phone number in E.164 format (e.g. +353871234567).
• Sender Name or ID (required) — WhatsApp sender number to send from; must be approved on your NUACOM account. Select from the list or specify an ID using an expression.
• Template Name or ID (required) — ID of the approved WhatsApp template to send. Templates are required to send messages outside the 24-hour Customer Service Window. Select from the list or specify an ID using an expression.
• Template Variables — Optional values to fill placeholders in the template. The keys must match the placeholders exactly as they appear in the template body, either numeric (e.g. {{1}}, {{2}}) or named (e.g. {{first_name}}). Leave empty if no placeholders are used.

Output shape

a single record representing the sent message response from the NUACOM API

Returns the API response JSON of the created WhatsApp conversation message. Errors may be thrown if required inputs are missing or if the API rejects the request.

Examples

Example 1: Send a WhatsApp template message to a customer with a personalized greeting

Set 'To' to the customer's phone number, select an approved 'Sender Name or ID', pick the desired 'Template Name or ID', and provide any required 'Template Variables' matching the template placeholders.
