Summary

Send an SMS message to a specified recipient phone number using the Sinch Conversations API.

Inputs

• To (required) — Recipient phone number in E.164 format (e.g., +15551234567) or local format if a Country is specified.
• Country — Optional country code used to interpret local phone number format. Required if the phone number does not include the country code in E.164 format.
• Message (required) — Text content of the message to send, between 1 and 1600 characters.
• Additional Fields — Optional parameters including SMS sender ID (alphanumeric or phone number), callback URL for delivery status updates, and custom metadata (up to 1024 characters).

Output shape

A single JSON record containing the sent message details including messageId, status, acceptedTime, recipient number (normalized to E.164), original message text, provider (Sinch), channel (SMS), and raw API response.

If the message text is empty or longer than 1600 characters, or if the phone number is invalid, the operation will throw an error. The recipient phone number is normalized to E.164 format using the Country selection if provided.
