Summary

Retrieve the versioning and history records for a specified asset from the WoodWing Assets Server.

Inputs

• Authentication Method (required) — Choose between automatic login before retrieval or using a previously obtained authentication token.
• Auth Token (required) — The authentication token from a previous login, required if 'Use Token From Previous Login' is selected.
• Asset ID (required) — The WoodWing Assets Server identifier of the asset to retrieve history for.
• Optional Parameters — Additional settings including pagination ('start' and 'num'), 'detailLevel' to choose preset history event detail, or 'actions' for a custom comma-delimited list of event types to retrieve (used only if 'detailLevel' is set to Custom).
• Pass Through Binary Data — Whether to pass through input binary data to the output, useful for preserving files in chained workflow nodes.
• Debug to Console — Enable detailed debug logging to the n8n console (auth tokens redacted) for troubleshooting.

Output shape

a single record containing the asset's history information as returned by the WoodWing Assets Server API

The output JSON includes history records possibly paginated using 'start' and 'num' parameters and filtered according to the requested detail level or custom actions. If 'Pass Through Binary Data' is enabled and binary data exists on input, it will be preserved in the output.

Examples

Example 1: Retrieve the basic creation event history for an asset by its ID, authenticating with automatic login, returning the first 10 records.

Set 'Authentication Method' to 'Login and Get History', provide asset ID, set 'Detail Level' to 1, and set 'Number of Hits' to 10.
