Message → Send File
AI-generatedSummary
Send a file attachment to a GHN GTalk channel. Choose a binary field, an HTTP(S) URL, or an existing numeric File ID; URL files are uploaded before the message is sent, while existing IDs are looked up for file details.
Inputs
- Channel ID (required) — ID of the channel to receive the file.
- File Source (required) — Choose Binary Field (default) or URL or File ID.
- Binary Property (required) — When using Binary Field, name of the input binary property to send; defaults to
data. - File (required) — When using URL or File ID, provide an HTTP(S) URL or numeric File ID.
- Client Message ID — Optional idempotency key. Reusing the same value lets GTalk discard duplicate messages; when empty, the node derives a value stable across retries.
Output shape
A list of n8n items, each containing a json object with data and errorCode.
Successful responses include the API response data and
errorCode: "success". If GTalk reports a duplicate message, the node treats it as delivered and returnsdata: {},errorCode: "success", anddeduplicated: true. Files larger than 100 MB are rejected. Requires GHN GTalk API credentials.
Examples
Example 1: Upload a binary file from the incoming item
Set File Source to Binary Field and Binary Property to the binary field name (default data). The node uploads the file, then sends its attachment to the channel.
Example 2: Send a file from a URL or existing File ID
Set File Source to URL or File ID and provide an HTTP(S) URL or numeric ID. URLs are downloaded and uploaded to GTalk; existing IDs are used directly after fetching their file details.
