Summary

Send a video message to a GTalk channel. Choose a binary input field or provide an HTTP(S) video URL or numeric File ID; the node uploads URL and binary videos, extracts video dimensions and duration, and attaches a generated thumbnail before sending. Existing File IDs are looked up for metadata and sent without uploading.

Inputs

  • Channel ID (required) — ID of the channel to receive the video.
  • Video Source (required) — Choose Binary Field (default) or URL or File ID.
  • Binary Property (required) — When using Binary Field, name of the incoming binary property containing the video; defaults to data.
  • Video (required) — When using URL or File ID, provide an HTTP(S) URL or a numeric existing File ID.
  • Caption — Optional video caption.
  • Additional Fields: Client Message ID — Idempotency key. If omitted, the node derives a value stable across retries when an execution ID is available.
  • Additional Fields: Parse Mode — How to parse the message content: Plain Text, Markdown, or HTML; defaults to Plain Text.
  • Request Options — Node-level HTTP settings for batching, SSL certificate validation, proxy, and timeout.

Output shape

A list of n8n items, one per input item, each containing a JSON object with data and errorCode; duplicate messages accepted previously are returned with deduplicated: true.

The video is sent via GTalk's message API. URL and binary uploads are limited to 100 MB and require ffprobe and ffmpeg to extract metadata and generate a thumbnail. The node derives width, height, and duration for uploaded videos; existing File IDs use the metadata returned by GTalk, or zero values if metadata is absent.
