Summary

Add a work item (time tracking entry) to a specified issue in YouTrack, recording the duration and optional description and date of the work done.

Inputs

• Issue ID (required) — The ID of the issue to add the work item to (e.g., PROJECT-123).
• Duration (Minutes) (required) — Duration of the work item in minutes.
• Description — Optional work item description.
• Date — Optional date and time when the work was done, specified as a Unix timestamp in milliseconds.
• Fields — Comma-separated list of fields to return in the response; defaults to id, text, date, duration (minutes and presentation), author (login and name), and creator (login and name).

Output shape

A single work item record corresponding to the newly added item, including the requested fields such as id, text, date, duration, author, and creator.

The fields returned can be customized via the 'Fields' input. The date input is converted to a Unix timestamp in milliseconds before sending. The operation makes a POST request to /issues/{issueId}/timeTracking/workItems.

Examples

Example 1: Add a 90-minute work item with a description and date to issue PROJECT-123, returning id and text fields.

Provide 'Issue ID' as 'PROJECT-123', 'Duration (Minutes)' as 90, set 'Description' to the work description, supply 'Date' as the date/time when the work was done, and specify 'id,text' in 'Fields' to limit the returned data.
