Summary

Moves a task within its dartboard to a new position, either after or before a specified task.

Inputs

• id (required) — The universal, unique ID of the task to move.
• afterTaskId — The universal, unique ID of the task to place the target task after.
• beforeTaskId — The universal, unique ID of the task to place the target task before.
• requestOptions — Optional settings for HTTP request behavior, including batching, timeout, proxy, and SSL certificate handling.

Output shape

A single item containing the updated task data.

The operation is a POST request to /tasks/{id}/move. It requires either afterTaskId or beforeTaskId to be provided to define the new position within the dartboard order.

Examples

Example 1: Move task to the top of the list

Set afterTaskId to the ID of the first task currently in the dartboard.

Example 2: Insert task between two specific tasks

Set beforeTaskId to the ID of the task that should appear immediately after the moved task.
