Summary

Get an overview summary of backlink data for a specified domain, subdomain, or webpage by sending parameters to the DataForSEO API's '/backlinks/summary/live' endpoint.

Inputs

• Target (Domain, Subdomain, URL) (required) — Domain, subdomain, or webpage URL to retrieve backlink summary data for. Domains and subdomains should be specified without 'https://' or 'www.', while pages should be specified with absolute URL including 'http://' or 'https://'.
• Backlink Status — Specify which backlink statuses to include: 'live', 'lost', or 'all'. Defaults to 'live'.
• Include Subdomains (required) — Boolean indicating whether to include backlinks from subdomains of the target.
• Include Indirect Links (required) — Boolean specifying whether indirect backlinks should be included in the summary.
• Internal List Limit (up to 1000) — Limits the number of internal items included in the summary list. Default is 10.
• Backlinks Filters — Optional JSON string representing an array of filtering parameters to narrow down backlink results according to DataForSEO's supported filters.

Output shape

a JSON object containing a backlink summary data structure for the target resource

The operation sends a POST request to the '/backlinks/summary/live' endpoint with parameters; the response contains summarized backlink information filtered and limited per the input parameters. Filters need to be properly JSON-encoded strings. Errors in filter parsing will cause the operation to fail. Pagination is controlled via input parameters where applicable.

Example 1: Get backlink summary for example.com with defaults

target set to 'example.com', backlinks_status_type 'live', including subdomains and indirect links, internal_list_limit 10, no additional filters.
