Summary

Update a Google Calendar event by sending a PATCH request for the selected calendar and event ID. Choose fields to change, such as its title, description, time, attendees, visibility, recurrence, or reminders; fields left unset are omitted from the update.

Inputs

  • Client ID, Client Secret, Refresh Token, Access Token (required) — OAuth fields shown by the node. The request implementation obtains an access token using the client ID, client secret, and refresh token; it does not read the Access Token field.
  • Calendar (required) — Select a Google Calendar or provide its ID.
  • Event ID (required) — ID of the event to update. For IDs containing an underscore on n8n version 1.3 or later, the Modify option can target the recurring event instance or its recurring event.
  • Use Default Reminders — Defaults to true. Turn off to send the configured event-specific reminders; when off, the node sets useDefault to false and includes any reminder overrides.
  • Update Fields — Optionally set fields to update: all-day status, attendees, color, description, end and start time, guest permissions, event ID, location, recurrence, notification preference, availability, summary, and visibility. The Attendees mode can add to existing attendees or replace them. Repeat frequency/count/until are used to build an RRULE; if RRULE is provided, those recurrence parameters are ignored. Repeat count and repeat-until cannot both be set.
  • Reminders — When default reminders are disabled, configure reminder methods (email or popup) and minutes before the event.

Output shape

A list of n8n items containing the Google Calendar API response for each input item.

Each successful update returns the API response object. With Continue On Fail enabled, a failed item instead returns an object with an error message. The node processes each input item separately.
