Summary

Update an existing Mautic contact by specifying the contact ID and the fields to change, optionally using raw JSON or UI parameters.

Inputs

• Authentication — Select authentication method: Credentials or OAuth2.
• Contact ID (required) — The unique identifier of the contact to update.
• JSON Parameters — Toggle to provide contact update fields as raw JSON instead of individual parameters.
• Update Fields (required) — Specify the contact fields to update. When JSON Parameters is false, use structured fields like email, first name, address, custom fields, tags, and more. When JSON Parameters is true, provide raw JSON for contact parameters.
• Options — Additional options such as RAW Data to return the full response data instead of just updated fields.

Output shape

a single JSON object representing the updated contact data or the full raw API response if RAW Data option is enabled.

Returns either the simplified fields of the updated contact by default or the full raw response when the RAW Data option is set. Requires valid Contact ID and update data. Field names and values must conform to Mautic's contact model.

Examples

Example 1: Updating a contact's email, name, and tags using UI fields

Set Contact ID as the target contact's ID, disable JSON Parameters, and fill individual fields under Update Fields like Email, First Name, Last Name, and Tags.

Example 2: Updating a contact using raw JSON data

Set Contact ID, enable JSON Parameters, and provide contact fields in the Body JSON parameter. Optionally enable RAW Data to get the full API response.
