PDF → Render PDF
AI-generatedSummary
Renders a saved Pictify template as a PDF by POSTing variables to the template's render endpoint, optionally downloading the resulting file as binary data.
Inputs
- Template ID (required) — UID of the Pictify template to render (e.g. XL13XACH2V). URL-encoded into /templates/{id}/render.
- Variables — JSON object of variables injected into the template. Defaults to {}; invalid JSON raises an error.
- PDF Options > Width — Output width in pixels. Only sent if greater than 0; otherwise the template default is used.
- PDF Options > Height — Output height in pixels. Only sent if greater than 0; otherwise the template default is used.
- PDF Options > Return Binary — If true, downloads the rendered PDF from the response URL and attaches it to the item as binary data. Default false.
- PDF Options > Binary Property Name — Binary property name for the downloaded PDF (default 'data'). Shown only when Return Binary is enabled.
Output shape
One output item per input item, with json set to the Pictify API response for the render. If Return Binary is on, the item also has the PDF under the chosen binary property.
Binary download uses the top-level
urlfield of the response (falling back to gif.url or results[0].url). If no URL is found, no binary is attached and no error is raised. The filename comes from the URL, or defaults to pictify-render.pdf. The request always sends format 'pdf'. With Continue On Fail enabled, failed items return json { error: message }.
Examples
Example 1: Generate an invoice PDF from order data and email it
Template ID set to the invoice template; Variables set to an expression mapping customer and line items; PDF Options > Return Binary on, binary property 'data'; pass to an email node as attachment.
Example 2: Get a hosted PDF URL only
Template ID and Variables set; leave PDF Options empty and read the URL from the response JSON.
