Summary

Preview the access control rules that would apply to a specified device IP under a given ACL policy JSON for a selected tailnet in Tailscale.

Inputs

• Authentication — Select the authentication method: API Key or OAuth2.
• Tailnet Name or ID (required) — Your tailnet organization name or ID. Choose from the list or use '-' for the default tailnet of the authenticated user.
• Policy (JSON) (required) — Provide the ACL policy document as a JSON string according to the Tailscale ACL schema.
• Preview For (IP Address) (required) — A raw IPv4 or IPv6 address (not hostname or CIDR) for which to preview the access rules. IPv6 is auto-detected by presence of ':', otherwise treated as IPv4.

Output shape

a JSON object representing the preview of access rules for the specified IP under the given ACL policy

The operation sends the ACL policy as a parsed JSON object in the request body and the IP and IP type as query parameters, returning the preview result in JSON. No pagination applies.
