Summary

Retrieve the split DNS configuration for a specified tailnet, which maps domain names to arrays of DNS nameserver IPs for split DNS resolution.

Inputs

• Authentication — Choose the authentication method to use: API Key or OAuth2. Defaults to API Key.
• Tailnet Name or ID (required) — Specify the tailnet organization name or ID to retrieve the split DNS configuration for. Choose from the list or select "-" for the authenticated user's default tailnet.

Output shape

a JSON object representing the split DNS configuration, mapping domain names to arrays of DNS nameserver IPs.

The output is the direct response body from the Tailscale API GET /api/v2/tailnet/{tailnet}/dns/split-dns endpoint, returning the current split DNS setup.

Examples

Example 1: Retrieve split DNS for default tailnet

Set Authentication to 'API Key' and Tailnet to '-'. Execute the operation to get the split DNS configuration for the default tailnet of the authenticated user.
