Summary

Send an approved WhatsApp template message to a recipient through the selected WhatsApp connection. Supply values for any dynamic header, body, or button placeholders; strict validation is enabled by default and checks their counts against the template metadata before sending.

Inputs

  • WhatsApp Connection (required) — Select the WhatsApp connection used to send the message.
  • Recipient Number (required) — Recipient’s phone number in international format.
  • Template (required) — Select the approved template to send.
  • Strict Template Validation — Defaults to true. Checks header, body, and dynamic button parameter counts against the template metadata; disable to skip these count checks.
  • Header Type — Defaults to None / Text. Choose the template header type: text, image, video, or document.
  • Header Parameters — For a text header, enter dynamic placeholder values in order. Empty values are discarded.
  • Header Image URL — URL used as the image header value when Header Type is Image.
  • Header Video URL — URL used as the video header value when Header Type is Video.
  • Header Document URL — URL used as the document header value when Header Type is Document.
  • Header Document Filename — Optional filename included with a document header.
  • Body Parameters — Enter dynamic body placeholder values in order. Empty values are discarded.
  • Button Parameters — For each dynamic button value, specify its zero-based button index, parameter position, subtype, and value. Empty values and invalid button indexes are ignored; subtype may be resolved from template metadata when validation is enabled.

Output shape

A list of items, one per input item, containing the WaaPy API response as JSON.

Each response item is paired with its input item. If the API response is an array, only its first element is returned. With Continue On Fail enabled, a failed item returns its original input JSON with an error.

Examples

Example 1: Template with dynamic text placeholders

Select the WhatsApp connection, recipient, and approved template. Set Header Type to None / Text and provide header and body values in placeholder order; add button values by button index and position if the template has dynamic buttons.

Example 2: Template with a media header

Select Image, Video, or Document as the Header Type and provide the corresponding URL. For documents, optionally provide a filename. Add any required body or button placeholder values.
