Summary

Send a direct message to a specific user in Zoho Cliq, optionally including a styled card and bot identity for the message.

Inputs

• User (required) — Select the user to send the direct message to; alternatively, choose 'Custom' to specify an Email ID or ZUID.
• Email ID/ ZUID (required) — Specify the Email ID or ZUID of the user when 'Custom' user option is selected.
• Text (required) — The textual content of the direct message to send.
• Card Theme — Select a card theme to customize the message appearance; defaults to plain text if none selected.
• Card Title — Title for the message card when a card theme is used (basic, poll, modern-inline, prompt).
• Card Thumbnail URL — Thumbnail image URL to display on the message card.
• Card Icon URL — Icon image URL to display on the message card.
• Bot Name — Name to display for the bot sending the message.
• Bot Icon URL — Icon URL to use for the bot sending the message.
• Sync Message — If enabled, the operation response will include the message ID of the sent message.

Output shape

a single JSON object containing the API response for the sent message

Returns the Zoho Cliq API response to the direct message POST request; includes message details and status. The message ID inclusion depends on the 'Sync Message' parameter.

Examples

Example 1: Send a simple direct message to a user by selecting them from a list

Set User to an existing user via dropdown, enter Text content, leave Card Theme as None.

Example 2: Send a direct message with a styled card and bot identity

Set User, enter Text, choose a Card Theme (e.g., Basic), fill Card Title and URLs for thumbnail and icon, specify Bot Name and Icon URL, optionally enable Sync Message to get the message ID back.
