Breaks an epic, sprint goal, or project into a dependency-ordered task plan using a Claude planning turn, then emits one envelope per planned task for downstream workflow delegation.

Inputs

  • Epic / Sprint Goal (required) — Goal text to break down. Defaults to the upstream ticket title and description when present, otherwise the input envelope prompt; supports expressions.
  • Correlation ID — Run identifier carried on each emitted envelope and used as the run-state and Slack-resume key. Leave blank to generate one, or reuse an upstream envelope’s ID to continue its run.
  • Planner Model — Claude model for the planning turn. Defaults to Sonnet; can inherit the session default or use another listed model.
  • Effort — Planning thoroughness passed to the Claude CLI. Defaults to the model’s setting; supports Low, Medium, High, Extra High, or Max.

Output shape

A list of task envelopes, one per planned task, ordered by dependency wave.

The planner may return a needs-input result instead of task envelopes; planning errors or invalid task dependencies fail the operation. Dependency cycles are rejected.
