Breaks an epic, sprint goal, or project into an ordered, wave-based task plan by running a Claude planning turn. Emits one envelope per planned task, carrying a shared correlation ID for tracking and resuming the run.

Inputs

  • Epic / Sprint Goal (required) — Goal or project text for the planner. Prefills from an upstream ticket's title and description, or from the envelope prompt; supports expressions and editing.
  • Correlation ID — Run identifier carried on emitted envelopes and used as the run-state key. Leave blank to generate one, or reuse an upstream envelope's ID to continue its run.
  • Planner Model — Claude model for the planning turn; defaults to Sonnet. Inherit Session Default is also available.
  • Effort — Planning thoroughness passed to the Claude CLI; defaults to the model setting, with Low through Max options.

Output shape

A list of task envelopes, one per planned task, ordered by dependency and wave.

Each envelope carries the run's correlation ID. A planner needs-input result is returned via plannerNeedsInput; planner errors and unparseable plans fail the operation.
