Base node for the next generation Chatbot Kit integration

Actions18

Config → Chatbot

AI-generated

Summary

Configure the chatbot’s name and version, environment-specific API credentials and URL, and page paths and labels. When it receives an onStartConversation request, the node stores the conversation context and sends an execution ID to the callback backend; optionally, it also fetches contact details from the configured API.

Inputs

  • Chatbot Name — Name stored in the chatbot configuration.
  • Chatbot Version — Version stored in the configuration; defaults to 0.0.1.
  • Call Contact On Start — Defaults to false. If enabled, an onStartConversation request triggers a POST to the environment’s /contact endpoint using the channel type and user identifier; a successful response updates the conversation’s pending contact details.
  • API Configuration — Add environment entries containing an API key, environment name, and base URL. On conversation start, the node selects the entry whose environment matches callerContext.env and stores its API settings for the execution.
  • Pages — Add page paths and labels to the configuration. The chatbot handler does not read or return these page entries.
  • Incoming item (required) — The handler reads the first input item’s json.body.type. For onStartConversation, it expects body.payload with callerContext (including env, uuid, and callback URL), param, contact, channel, and context.

Output shape

Two main outputs: onMessage and onGetAdvisor.

For onStartConversation, onMessage receives one item containing a standard message with type: "executeChatbot", the execution ID, and a payload containing caller context, contact, channel, conversation context, and any stored last user message or API response. onGetAdvisor is empty. An onAdvisor request also produces empty outputs because that branch is unimplemented. Other request types throw an unknown request type error. The node uses the callback backend to register the execution ID; enabling contact lookup adds an API request and updates pending contact details when the response is successful.
